Teri McKibbon

Teri McKibbon has been involved with the management of construction-related companies for 25 years including founding, acquiring and integrating companies and the overall management of companies that are active in all aspects of infrastructure construction. Teri's role as CEO of Aecon Infrastructure Group involves the overall operational management of approximately 1500 employees involved in various vertically integrated companies.

Awarded the Canadian Construction Association's Gold Seal Project Manager Certification in 1997, Teri is also on the Aecon - Lafarge Caledon Board of Directors; the Aecon - Alarie Joint Venture Executive Board; the Utility Contractors Association of Ontario Board of Directors and the Ontario Roadbuilders Association Board of Directors. Teri attended Carleton University's Geology as well as integrated Science and Economics programs and has been with Aecon since 1996.

Paul is responsible for directing the financial and administrative activities of the Company. With over 25 years of experience in Regulatory (Ontario Energy Board), Finance, Human Resources and Operations in the energy industry, he provides expertise and leadership in the business services that support the Operations. In addition he provides leadership to the Business Development Organization within Aecon Infrastructure.

Shehrose Somji

Shehrose brings 18 years of financial leadership and expertise to the Aecon Infrastructure team, in the development and management of financial services to our Infrastructure Division. 

Since joining Aecon in August 2000 as a Senior Accountant her skills and leadership have moved her up through the organization to her current role as Vice President of Financial Services.

Her team supports our many operational groups with financial forecasting, detailed and consolidated financial reporting, cost accounting, and budgeting. In addition, Shehrose oversees all transaction services, technology, and insurance, as well as internal and external audits. Her team also provides valuable support for key customer requirements such as audit/financial scorecard information.

  

Dave Brennan

Dave joined the Infrastructure team in the fall of 2005. Having held a number of senior HR roles in the field of Finance, Retail and Printing, Dave's expertise lies in the areas of recruitment, succession planning and leadership development. He holds a BA from the University of Michigan, Economics and Psychology, and has held a CHRM designation since 1990.

With 30 years of service in the fields of general contracting, construction management, project/program management and land development of large engineering projects (LEP) in Canada, USA and the Middle East, Mr. Whyte brings to Aecon Infrastructure Group acquired knowledge in the delivery of mega-programs. David has obtained this knowledge through senior level management experience of complex, multi-disciplinary capital projects/programs within both the public and private sector.

David's representation of both owner's and large EPC Contractors has been in the capacity of Construction Manager, Project/Program Manager, Vice President and Managing Director. The range of diverse mega-projects he managed include billion dollar commercial and resort developments, telecomm and infrastructure programs such as network fibre optic rollout and light rail transit, as well as multi-billion dollar land developments such as the revitalization programs of the Toronto Waterfront ($17B) and Jumeria Gardens ($95B), Dubai. Moreover, David is experienced in several forms of contracting including PPP, Alliancing and other contractual freameworks designed for the successful delivery of LEPs.


Bill Clarke

Bill brings over 39 years of infrastructure experience including senior project and corporate management roles in the heavy civil, utilities, water, sewer, ICI, and vertical construction projects in Canada and USA. Bill’s experience also includes senior management roles in complex infrastructure projects for large Petro-Chemical companies.

Bill’s expertise in relationship building and developing Strategic Alliances with our customers has proven to be mutually beneficial for the sustained growth in our market place.  

As Vice President of Business Development, Bill works closely with all the divisions to develop long term strategic relationships and explore new opportunities.

Rob has been with Aecon since early 2006, coming to the team with 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He has been involved in all aspects of telecommunications, from Operations, Engineering, Capital Investment, Technology Development, and Sales & Marketing. His role is to assist the organization in developing and executing the team's business strategy and to look for new business opportunities.

Rob is currently Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Brantford Hydro.

Yonni brings 10 years of U.S. and Canadian legal experience to Aecon's Infrastructure team, where he provides legal and commercial advice on a wide range of issues. Since joining Aecon in 2005, Yonni has focused on commercial agreements, mergers and acquisitions, PPP/AFP projects, litigation management, and risk management. Yonni also has executive responsibility fot the Qx Locates business unit.

Yonni currently sits on the General Conditions committee of the Ontario Road Builders Association and is an executive member of the Construction Law section of the Ontario Bar Association. Yonni is a licensed lawyer in Ontario, Massachusetts and California.

Doug Steels

Doug Steels is President of Aecon Constructors International and also manages Aecon's interests on Joint Venture projects as Board member of the Executive Management Committee. Mr. Steels' 35-year construction and engineering career with Aecon started as a Field Engineer on the massive St. Lawrence Seaway, Welland Canal Relocation project. His unique combination of practical skills and management capabilities were developed on Aecon heavy civil construction projects as diverse as British Columbia's Revelstoke Dam and Mount MacDonald Railway Tunnel, India's Nathpa Jhakri Hydroelectric project and the Cross Israel Toll Highway project.

Prior to his appointment as President of Aecon Constructors International, Mr. Steels held roles of increasing management responsibility in Aecon's corporate office, including the positions of Chief Estimator and most recently as Senior Vice President. Mr. Steels holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Windsor.

John is a Civil Engineer that has worked in the civil construction business for 20 years. He joined Aecon two years ago and in that time gained experience in all areas of the Infrastructure Group's business. Now based in Edmonton, he is responsible for the development and management of new business in Alberta.

Mark joined Aecon as Senior Vice President of Aecon Construction and Materials Limited in 2009, bringing with him 27 years of construction, engineering and materials experience. He has executive responsibility for Aecon’s Construction and Materials operations; Miwel Construction; Leo Alarie and Sons Construction and Aecon Materials Engineering.

Mark has been involved in the road building and related materials industry since 1982, holding increasing levels of responsibility in operations, estimating and management for a large public construction company. 

Mark graduated as a professional engineer from The University of Waterloo in 1982 and holds a Masters in Business Administration from McMaster University. He previously served as President of both the Ontario Road Builders Association and Ontario Hot Mix Producers Association. He is also a board member for CCPAT at the University of Waterloo.

 

 


John Chow - P.Eng.

John graduated from the University of Waterloo with his Bachelor of Applied Science degree in 1977.

He has over 28 years experience in the estimating, planning, scheduling and construction management of heavy civil engineering construction projects. He is responsible for the delivery of a full range of work types, including highway and bridge construction, utility work and major building projects, including hospitals. He has developed particular expertise in the effective development and implementation of value engineering principles to the benefit of Aecon's clients.

Tom has over twenty years experience in materials engineering and testing. A graduate of Civil Engineering Technology from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, his studies continued, specializing in Bituminous and Portland cement concrete design and engineering at the University of Calgary and the University of Texas. Tom founded Aecon Materials Engineering in 1996 as an incorporated subsidiary of ACML.

Tom is a regular instructor for the Ontario Good Roads Association Scott MacKay Bituminous Course and conducts Superpave training courses for the industry. In addition, Tom sits on a number of Industry committees including, Canadian User Producer Group for Asphalt (CUPGA); Vice Chair (Chair in 2007), ORBA / MTO Hot Mix and ERS Technical Committee, Ontario Superpave Implementation Committee, Chair – Contractors Superpave Implementation Sub committee, Aggregate Producers Specification Committee, Ontario Hot Mix Producers Association - Hot Mix Technical Committee.

Wayne has over 21 years experience in the construction industry including overall project management, estimating, planning, scheduling, and construction management of civil engineering construction projects. He is responsible for the delivery of a full range of work types including, highway and underground construction, utility work and major infrastructure projects for Miwel Construction.

Wayne currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Durham Heavy Construction Association, and the Joint ORBA and OSWCA Education Committee which coordinates and administers educational programs for the industry across Ontario.

Bill Karson

In 1973, at 22 years old, Bill started Karson Kartage, and by the end of the 1970’s acquired his first sand and limestone quarry. In the 1980’s Bill expanded the business to include construction services such as road building, site excavations, and services installation. In 1997 Bill acquired a batch plant and entered the hot mix business, completing what is now The Karson Group, one of the most progressive road builders in Eastern Ontario, and a company named one of Canada’s “50 Best Managed Companies” in 2006.

After graduating from Carleton University and obtaining his CA with Coopers & Lybrand, one of John’s first clients was Bill Karson. John helped Karson to incorporate in 1973. While pursuing a career in public practice and the Public Service he continued to provide financial and tax advice to Karson’s, especially on financing and acquisitions. In 1996, John joined Karson’s on a fulltime basis. Today John directs the financial and administrative activities of the company, including HR and IT, with a focus on expanding the business.

After obtaining his Civil Engineering Technologist designation, Glenn spent several years in civil construction and land development before joining Karson’s. He is Gold Seal Certified in Project Management for Road Building and Heavy Construction. Glenn has been with Karson’s for over 25 years and is responsible for all aspects of Karson Konstruction, including Karson Asphalt Paving. This includes the acquisition and utilization of construction equipment, the asphalt plant and paving equipment. Glenn is Past President of the National Capital Heavy Construction Association

Peter graduated from Carleton University with a Civil Engineering degree and then completed his MBA at Western. After working for several years in the civil construction industry, he joined Karson’s in 1978 as the chief accountant, dispatcher and engineer. Today, Peter’s current responsibilities include oversight of all the day to day financial accounting activities of the company


Erwin Schulz

Erwin drove Bill Karson’s first single axle truck in the early 70s before pursuing a career in the currency printing industry. Erwin rejoined the Karson Group in 1996 bringing an appreciation for quality and customer service. Erwin’s current responsibilities in the Aggregate Division includes the management of pits and quarries, aggregate sales, golf course materials, materials engineering, trucking and equipment maintenance. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Stone Sand and Gravel Association. In addition he is very active in community planning and sits on numerous public advisory committees.





Denis Alarie

Denis is the President of Leo Alarie and Sons Construction Limited (LASCL) a wholly owned subsidiary of Aecon Group Inc. The company operates in Ontario and Alberta and is a well diversified Civil Construction Contractor operating with around 350 to 400 employees during peak season.

 In 1979 Denis joined Leo Alarie and Sons Limited (LAS) as a project engineer. In 1987 after the successful completion of the Hemlo Mining Projects on the North Shore of Lake Superior, he was asked to head up LAS as President. In 2007 LAS sold to the Aecon Group and is continuing on operating as LASCL. Denis holds a Civil Engineering degree from Queen’s University (1977).

Don joined Aecon in 1977 after graduating from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Civil Engineering. He has held the positions of Project Engineer, Project Manager, Contracts Manager and Estimating Manager. Don has extensive experience as Senior Estimator, bidding heavy civil construction projects in the domestic market as well as internationally. He has worked on major projects such as the Highway 407 Express toll Route (407ETR) and the Toronto Airport Terminal Development projects in Canada, and the Nathpa Jhakri Hydroelectric Power project in India. Don is currently responsible for overseeing the execution of all heavy civil projects under Aecon Constructors

Francis graduated in 1977 from the University of Calgary with his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering. He has 28 years of industry experience in consulting and construction engineering, in North America and internationally. He specializes in the construction of tunnels and underground works, roadways, bridges and marine works. He has extensive experience in detailed design, cost estimating, construction planning and project management, and is considered a leader in the introduction of new technology. Francis is currently responsible for overseeing engineering and estimating for heavy civil construction projects under Aecon Constructors.

Roger Arsenault is a civil engineering graduate from the University of Sherbrooke class of 1983.  In 2000, he was awarded with the Canadian Construction Association's Gold Seal certification for project management.  Active for over 25 years in the construction industry in Quebec, he has extensive experience in management and execution of major civil works having over his career served as project engineer, project manager and construction manager.  Mr. Arsenault has a diverse background having participated in large hydro-electric, maritime and transport infrastructure projects.  Employed by Aecon since 2003 he is currently responsible for the Infrastructure Division in Quebec.

He has over 24 years of experience and has an in depth knowledge of the industry, having worked from the bottom up, in all facets of utility construction.

Kent has been in the utility construction business for 20 years, the last 13 years with Aecon affiliated companies and now leads Aecon's Traffic Technology division as General Manager. He has as wide range of experience across all facets of Aecon's utility infrastructure business including project management responsibility for the construction of the highway lighting and tolling infrastructure systems along Highway 407 and the Cross Israel Highway.

Andrew has over 10 year’s utility design and management experience. He has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from McMaster University. He is currently responsible for overall operation of Aecon Utility Engineering, and the execution and management of Aecon Infrastructure’s Quality Management System.  Andrew sat on the Planning & Design Best Practices Committee with the Ontario Regional Common Ground Alliance (ORCGA), and remains a member of CSA’s Mapping of Underground Utility Infrastructure development committee.  His team provides specialized engineering design, along with project and construction management services.

Mike joined Aecon 5 years ago and brings with him 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Mike has worked to deliver network solutions for companies such as Rogers, Bell and Shaw Cable. He provides technical expertise along with strong operations skills to QX Technical Services. His team is responsible for delivering telecommunication infrastructure services to telecommunications network providers, private enterprise, and the residential community.

  Adrienne Mackenzie

Adrienne Mackenzie, Manager of QX Locates, oversees the company’s 120 employees during peak season as well as its operational and financial performance.  QX Locates is proud to offer its expertise to such blue chip companies as Enbridge, Union Gas, Bell Canada and Toronto Hydro.  It also provides self-locates for the Aecon Group. Adrienne joined Aecon in 2006 as Operations Analyst and served as Assistant Manager of QX Locates before assuming her current position.  She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Honours) degree from the University of Waterloo.
