Diversity Programs

Aecon is passionate about diversifying the construction trades. Our goal is to have a workforce as diverse as the communities we help build every day.

As one of Canada’s largest and most diverse construction and infrastructure development companies, we recognize the value traditionally underrepresented groups bring to our industry, including Women and Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC).

The Aecon Diversity in the Trades (ADT) and Aecon Women in Trades (AWIT) programs provide an opportunity to create meaningful change in our industry and diversify our workforce through clear and measurable action. Our goal is to remove workplace barriers and increase participation in the trades by providing underrepresented groups with the resources and tools they need to succeed.

Through these programs, Aecon offers career-building opportunities:

  • Hands on Training: Gain hands-on skills and industry experience, including an introduction to Aecon, our industry, all requisite health and safety training, and job-specific training.
  • Connect and Network: Connect and network with ADT and AWIT program participants to build relationships and gain valuable career insights from shared experiences.
  • Diverse Roles: A wide range of placements in industry roles depending on your field of interest and career goals.
