The extension of Aecon’s legacy alliance agreements with Union Gas and Enbridge Gas Distribution, which merged in 2018 to create Enbridge Gas Inc., represent additional recurring revenue opportunities in utilities operations – building on a 20-year relationship with Enbridge.

As one of Aecon’s largest, long-time clients, the partnership with Enbridge was established working with Union Gas in 1999 – a company that was later acquired by Enbridge to form Enbridge Gas Inc. Aecon is proud to be one of Enbridge’s preferred contractors, working closely within the Alliance to reduce the cost of construction while delivering consistently with a high level of quality and strong safety performance.

A key project for Canadian oil production, the project involves constructing 92.2 km of pipeline in the area of Brandon, Manitoba for Spread 8, and constructing 96.5 km of pipeline near Morden, Manitoba for Spread 9, extending to the Canada-U.S. border.
