Joseba Obeso serves as Senior Vice President, Civil U.S., where he is responsible for leading the strategic growth, operational performance, and market expansion of Aecon’s Civil business across key markets in the United States.
Joseba brings more than 19 years of global heavy civil leadership across Europe, South America, and the U.S., with diverse experience leading major transportation, water, and utility infrastructure projects. Joseba has a strong track record internationally in heavy civil infrastructure, has led large multidisciplinary teams, and managed major multi-billion-dollar infrastructure programs.
Prior to joining Aecon, Joseba held several senior leadership roles at OHLA USA, where he spent seven years in progressively advancing positions. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President for the West Region, where he oversaw operations, business development, and strategic growth initiatives across the western United States, managing a portfolio of large-scale civil infrastructure projects. Earlier in his career, Joseba held key project leadership roles at Isolux Corsán and Viuda de Sainz S.A., delivering major infrastructure projects across international markets and building a strong foundation in complex project execution and operational leadership.
Joseba holds a degree in Mining Engineering from the University of the Basque Country, a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Madrid, and a Business Management Diploma from INESEM Business School. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Euskera.
