Finch West LRT

The Finch West LRT system will be a new addition to Toronto's travel options, benefitting an estimated 40,000 passengers daily with 18 new stops. The line will stretch 11 kms along Finch Avenue West, from Humber College to Keele Street, offering fast and secure transit. Known as Line 6, the LRT will be eco-friendly and will reduce traffic congestion while supporting local businesses.

The project includes 16 surface stops, an underground stop at Finch West station, and a below-street-level stop at Humber College station. It also features a Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF) at York Gate Boulevard to service the fleet of 18 light rail vehicles (LRVs). Additionally, scope involves other infrastructure improvements including road and sidewalk repaving, bike lane installations, fibre optic cabling, and upgrading traffic and pedestrian signage.

Aecon is a consortium member of Mosaic Transit Group with partners ACS Infrastructure Canada Inc. and CRH Canada Group Inc. Aecon has a 33.3 per cent interest in equity and construction and a 50 per cent interest in the ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation of the LRT system and associated infrastructure over a 30-year period – with Metrolinx as the owner and TTC as the operator. The LRVs are manufactured by Alstom in Brampton, Ontario.

The LRT will integrate with other transit services, including the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) Line 1, GO, Miway, YRT, and Züm. During peak travel times, LRVs are expected to arrive approximately every six minutes – connecting communities and improving convenience.

Eglinton Crosstown LRT

Creating reliable and faster service, the Eglinton Crosstown LRT will run along Eglinton Avenue between Mount Dennis (Weston Road) and Kennedy station. This 19-kilometre corridor will include a 10-kilometre underground portion, between Keele Street and Laird Drive and will have 25 stations and stops.
