Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project

The scope of work included the design and construction of improvements to the existing Highway 91 at Nordel interchange, the Highway 91 Connector at Nordel Way, and the Highway 91/17 Connector (Sunbury).

 

Pacific Gateway Constructors, a consortium comprised of Ledcor (40%), Aecon (35%) and BEL Contracting (25%), is carrying out the contract awarded by the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

 

Key Project Activities included:

  • 15 KM of new lane roadway and upgrades to 20 KM of existing lane roadway.
  • Construction of 4 bridge structures and 8 MSE Wall bridge abutment supports.
  • Construction of 32 drilled shafts for bridge foundations.
  • Extensive ground improvements, including wick-drains, light weight cellular concrete and one of the deepest stone column installations in North America.
