Jul 3, 2007

Toronto, Ontario – July 3, 2007: Aecon Group Inc. (TSX: ARE) announced today that its Buildings Division has been awarded the construction management contract for a new five-story corporate office building for Bell at its existing Creekbank campus in Mississauga.

Demonstrating Bell's commitment to environmentally sustainable development, the new 350,000 square foot, five-story corporate office building will meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) requirements. This will be Aecon's eighth LEED project, reflecting the increasing demand that contractors be able to build to LEED requirements. Work on this project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2008.

“This project award demonstrates Aecon's expertise in LEED construction, as well as our commitment to the Class I office market in the GTA,” said Robert McDonald President, Aecon Buildings. “We are very pleased to be working with Bell Canada on this important project and look forward to building on the excellent working relationship Aecon and Bell have established in the utility construction sector where Aecon currently provides most of Bell Canada's subcontracted construction requirements across Ontario.”
