Aecon awarded three-year $120 million utilities contract from Bell Canada

Toronto, Ontario – February 19, 2008: Aecon Group Inc. (TSX: ARE) today announced that its Infrastructure Division has been awarded a three-year contract totalling approximately $120 million by Bell Canada with an option to extend for an additional year.

Under the terms of the contract, Aecon will install Bell Canada’s underground structures such as manholes and duct structures, and will provide trenching and directional boring services across Ontario. It also includes the installation of Bell Canada’s outside plant equipment cabinets, pedestals and walk-in-cabinets.

Aecon has additional contracts with Bell Canada for outside plant maintenance and buried service wires, as well as contracts for cable splicing and line work. Also, Aecon has contracts with Bell ExpressVu for satellite dish installation in Ontario and Western Canada and has contracts in Ontario for cable locate services. Aecon Buildings is also currently constructing Bell Canada’s corporate office building at its existing Creekbank Campus in Mississauga.
