Aecon Group Inc. today announced that it has secured a $17.5 million contract from the Ontario Ministry of Transportation to complete a portion of a four-lane highway from Parry Sound to Sudbury in a 50/50 joint venture with Leo Alarie and Sons Ltd.

These expected results represent an improvement of approximately $7 million over the previous year, but the anticipated loss is at variance with Aecon's earlier outlook of a return to profitability in 2004.
